After what seemed like forever plus 10 minutes, and after applying just about every amendment in the cabinet, the ghost peppers are finally starting to emerge. There’s one plant in the garden that’s absolutely huge and kinda bushy, and I just knew that one was going to be a ghost pepper plant, and yesterday it showed me I was RIGHT:

I did go overboard again this year with overfertilizing – I was watering with SuperThrive and adding worm castings and Tomato-Tone for when it rained and threw in some Sta-Green slow release, and that is just too much, man. So for the next few weeks, I am simply watering and letting what’s already there work. Trust the process, let go and let Mother Nature, just freaking chill, all that stuff. As a perpetual optimizer, it is very hard for me to do nothing! Instead I go check on and inspect them twice a day.

Also, I tried to install shade cloth, but 1) bought one that was too big and 2) put it up on a windy day with not enough support. Half my plants fell over. Now I’m trying to figure out how to attach it to a fence on one side and keep it up without securing it on the other…without spending more money. It’s tricky. On the plus side, it’s taking up the brain power that I would use to obsess over fertilizers.
